THE WONDERS OF DISCOVERING YOUR PURPOSE

SCRIPTURE: Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world. John 18:37

I heard Bishop T.D. Jakes tell the story of a woman who was a secretary for years. She would make fifteen mistakes in one letter. Her boss would correct it, send it back to her to retype, but there would still be mistakes. The boss would send the letter back to her about fifteen times. And she was meant to be a professional secretary, but she was so miserable until she was sacked. She went back home and realised that her passion was in catering and nutrition. She entered food, beverages and catering business. In a very short time, she became a millionaire in dollars. She was sacked from a secretarial job, but catapulted into the area of her passion, and she prospered.

Beloved, if you have not succeeded in your endeavour, you are not a failure; it is possible that you have only been pursuing the wrong things. Everyone came into the world for a purpose. Jesus said, ...To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world... (John 18:37). When a person does not discover the purpose why he was born, he ends up as a wanderer on earth. But when you discover your purpose, you end as a wonder.

Now, how do you find your purpose? Today, we shall be looking at two ways.

1. Divine encounter or revelation.

When a man encounters God like Moses at the burning bush in Exodus 3:1, he would hear the voice of God giving him direction of what his life is meant to be. And anyone who hears God must be heard on earth.

2. Affection

Anything you love doing is an indicator of what you are created to do. Anything that gives you fulfilment is a secret of your accomplishment. Anything that gives you excitement is connected to your assignment.

(WHAT WE SHOULD DO):

1. Ask God to show you the purpose of your existence if you have not yet discovered it.

2. Pay attention to what brings you joy and fulfillment; it could be your purpose.

3. Deploy all you have got to fulfill your discovered purpose.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to fulfill my purpose on earth. Grant me access to all I need to fulfill my destiny, Lord in Jesus' Name.
