THE WORD.

As children of God, it is vital to understand the assignment of the Word of God. It is understanding that makes people outstanding.
Now, if we have a clear understanding of the assignment of the Word of God in our lives, we will not approach the Word casually or religiously, but with desperation and expectation.

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. Acts 6:4
Today, we shall explore the ministry or assignment of the Word of God.
Now, what is the assignment of the preached or taught Word? Apart from instruction in righteousness, which is the major thing, what are the things that come with the instruction of the Word?
1. The Word brings healing. Psalm 107:20 says, "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." So, the Word of God brings healing.
2. The Word brings deliverance (Psalm 105:17). The Word of God is pregnant with deliverance.
3. The Word brings breakthrough (Luke 5:4-6). When you engage the Word, you will experience a breakthrough.
4. The Word brings health and wholeness (Proverbs 4:20-22). The Word of God brings life; it gives health and wholeness to our body (John 6:63).
5. The Word brings joy. We live in a very depressed and challenged world. If you want to live above the depression in the world, engage the Word, it imparts joy (Psalm 119:162, Jeremiah 15:16).
6. The Word brings peace. In case you are in the midst of a battle or crisis, and you desire peace, go for the Word (Psalm 85:8).
Now, how do we benefit from the ministry of the Word of God?
1. Receive the Word with an open heart (Acts 17:11). Don't ever say I have heard it before.
2. Never give up on the Word until results come (Hebrews 6:12, Job 14:14). The promises of the Word are accessible by the combination of faith and patience.
(WHAT WE SHOULD DO):
1. Approach the Word with an open heart.
2. Insist on the fulfilment of every revelation received from the Word of God.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your Word to me today. I receive the full benefits of Your sent Word to my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
QUOTE: "You ride the storm by the Word of instruction. Out of revelation comes instruction. A revelation is pregnant with instruction." Culled from the book, "Riding the Storms of Life"
